Born on March 19, 1943, Molina was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry (1995) for his groundbreaking research on the depletion of the ozone layer caused by chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). His work, conducted alongside Paul Crutzen and F. Sherwood Rowland, transformed global environmental policy and led to the Montreal Protocol, a landmark treaty that continues to protect the atmosphere today.
