A family business active since 1977 and now in its third generation, Ruffieux & Fils SA is a funeral and memorial-monument firm based at impasse Maladaire 10 in Romont, in the canton of Fribourg. Founded by Bernard Ruffieux and Chantal Ruffieux-Rey and led by Mehdi Ruffieux, who holds a Swiss federal diploma, it supports families with calm, attentive listening and professionalism.

A certified training company, the firm works across many regions — Glâne, Sarine, Veveyse, Gibloux, Gruyère and the Fribourg and Vaud parts of the Broye — and for all faiths. It takes care of all the administrative formalities, the preparation and organisation of the ceremony, religious or secular, and the care of the deceased. The Orchidée room and the funeral lounge, open every day from 9am to 9pm, offer an intimate setting for a personalised farewell.

Services cover burial or cremation, the choice of coffins and urns, memorial monuments made in-house, flowers, repatriation to and from Switzerland, and funeral pre-arrangement. Mindful of climate issues, the firm has acquired the first electric hearse in the canton of Fribourg. It handles the necessary formalities and authorisations and ensures complete support, from the first contact to the lasting memorial.
