Die Universität St.Gallen (HSG) trauert um Herrn Prof. em. Dr. Emil Brauchlin. Mit grosser Betroffenheit haben wir erfahren, dass unser Emeritus Prof. Dr. Emil Brauchlin am 11. August 2026 verstorben ist. 1970 wählte die Hochschule St.Gallen Emil Brauchlin als Extraordinarius, 1973 wurde er zum Ordinarius für Allgemeine Betriebswirtschaftslehre berufen. Von 1979 bis 1988 wirkte er als Direktor des Instituts für Betriebswirtschaft. Das grosse Verdienst von Emil Brauchlin liegt in der Gründung der Forschungsstelle für Internationales Management (FIM-HSG) im Jahr 1989, welche er bis zu seiner Emeritierung 1996 leitete. Dort baute Emil Brauchlin die Vertiefungsrichtung «Internationales Management» auf, welche sich in wenigen Jahren zu einer der grössten im Bereich der BWL etablierte. Emil Brauchlin wurde als motivierender Lehrer mit gutem Bezug zur Unternehmenspraxis sehr geschätzt. Wir gedenken Emil Brauchlin in grosser Dankbarkeit.
