What to do in case of death?

An interactive checklist to guide you through the first administrative and personal steps.

  1. 1. Contact the doctor

    First 2 hours

If the death occurs at home, immediately contact the family doctor or the 144 emergency service for the official confirmation of death and the issuance of the medical certificate (essential for all further steps).

  2. 2. Choose a funeral home

Organise transport and the first wishes of the deceased.

  3. 3. Inform loved ones and the potential employer

Before any public announcement, it is essential to personally inform the family, close friends, and any potential employer of the deceased.

  4. 4. Official notification to the Civil Registry Office

The death must be officially reported to the Civil Registry Office of the place of death within 48 hours. This procedure is required to obtain burial or cremation permits.

  5. 5. Publish the obituary for free on Funere.com

You don't have to face this moment alone. On Funere.com, you can publish a funeral announcement for free in just a few minutes, informing the community and allowing others to send messages of condolence.
